Personal Profile

CCSD-retreat-wholepersonness-polaroid.jpg

Drawing from multiple problem-solving disciplines, I emphasize growth in all areas of people's lives. After working as a rocket propulsion engineer in aerospace, I shifted my focus to study, then teach, Product Design. I incorporate holistic adult learning and development to cultivate creativity in my students. I champion bold, innovative ideas achieved through generous and compassionate iterative processes in student projects and my own work.

My design work includes orthopedic and exercise devices, and I've contributed to the design of an award-winning Cradle to Cradle shipping solution. My illustrations are included in several books by Patti Digh.

I have additional degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University (Go 'Cats!) and College Counseling and Student Development from Azusa Pacific University. My drive to better understand and support the development of creative identity fuels my research and continued learning.
